Wreathe in Shadowflames
You conjure black flames to surround your target. If the target is not willing or an Undead under your control, it must make a Constitution saving throw, being ignited on a failure. When you cast this spell, choose if the flame is beneficial or harmful. This flame produces no light.
Beneficial. The target’s form is distorted through the dark flames, making it hard to keep track of. The target gains a +1 bonus to AC and deals an additional 1d6 fire damage on a hit with a melee attack.
Harmful. The flame burns the target and rots their body. On a failed save, the target takes 2d6 fire damage.
At the beginning of each of the target’s turns, it takes 5 fire damage if it is living. It takes an additional 5 damage if you chose a harmful flame.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, increase the harmful flame damage or the added damage of the beneficial flame by 1d6 for each slot level above 3rd.
