Debtbearer
Source: Wysteria's Journey through Faerie
In Faerie, gifts are never free. You learned this lesson firsthand. At some point, you accepted something from another—a favor, a meal, protection, a treasured possession, a secret, or perhaps something as simple as a kind word during a moment of need. Whether knowingly or not, accepting that gift placed you under an obligation. Perhaps the debt was fair and willingly accepted, or perhaps it was forced upon you by ancient custom. Perhaps you do not even know precisely what you owe.
Some debtbearers spend their lives trying torepay what they owe. Others seek loopholes, bargains, or ways to escape their obligation. Some accumulate debts so quickly that their lives become tangled in a web of promise and favors stretched across entire courts. A fortunate few discover that being owed can be just as powerful as owing.
