History of Impyrea

Many Centuries ago, pre Divine Balance, an elf born of the Feywild crossed into the material plane and wanted to claim the landmass as his own. This was King Thero Leoven. He worked his way up into the court of the country’s current ruler at the time, Lord Gwee Renn. Through clever deception and use of fey-granted magical persuasion, King Thero convinced Lord Gwee to make him heir to the throne. After Lord Gwee’s passing a few years later, King Thero ascended to the throne and eventually took three human wives: Dunamara, Kalmortha, and Narna. He slept with his wives until they each conceived unto him a son. His sons, Umenan born of Kalmortha, Kelkas born of Dunamara, and Halvoril born of Narna were all born within a few months of each other. His wife Narna died during child birth. For this, the King deemed her weak and laid a curse on her offspring for all eternity that they may be as weak as she was. At the age of about 550, after his half-elven sons had reached adulthood at the age of 20, he promised them each a third of the land upon his imminent passing. For you see, since the Divine Balance had not yet come into place, the available magic of the time was limited to creatures of the Feywild and the Shadowfell. Even followers of Kyeyar had only limited abilities at the time in terms of healing. Historians believe the King lived to be about 600 (his actual age is unknown) before he died to a terrible disease. Each of his sons took control of their third of the land and established their capitals respectively. They lived in peace with each other and had good relations (the sons of Kalmortha and Dunamara were unaware of the curse placed on their brother). Each son took a wife and gave birth to a new generation of kings before dying about 50 years later–their wives soon after. This continued for many generations until the present day where the three individual kingdoms are still in place as Kalmorthii, Dunamarii, and Narnii. Throughout the many generations following the original three brothers, it became increasingly difficult to maintain control over the growing populations within the kingdoms. To alleviate some of the responsibility, the kings would select their most trustworthy advisors and give them providence over small parts of the land to have as their own territory. This is how the other countries came to be. The curse over the descendants of Narna still remains, and the rulers over Narnii have had to give up much more of the land than those of Kalmorthii and Dunamarii. King Friedel of Narnii has even given up a large part of his country to his divorced wife, Queen Kailana (this new territory is now Central Narnii). No major wars have happened in the continent yet except for what parts of the Scourging occurred here. But following that incident all trade relations have been restored although some territories have decided to remain isolated and may keep to themselves.
