Amadiah's Amulet

A sister of Mahkia, Amadiah was a powerful healer who had a special interest in jewelry and craft. She often carved little necklaces or bracelets to be enchanted with certain healing spells for those who came to see her. During the Unyctan seer hunts, she carved one for herself: a stone circle, marked with a sun symbol. As the hunts grew more frequent, she felt more threatened, and, predicting the hunters would come for her and her family eventually, began to secretly transfer bits of her own magical energy into the amulet. She did so slowly, making sure it was unnoticeable to her siblings and parents. She'd only transferred a bit to it before the hunters came to their home.

During the attack, she was overpowered. She watched as the soldiers took her sisters captive, and, while trying to fight them, was mortally wounded. After their sisters were killed, she attempted to run with Mahkia, her younger brother. The two ran into the hills as far as they could, reaching a stone alcove in one before she grew too tired to go on further. Mahkia tried to heal her injury, but she stopped him, telling him to save his energy. After that, she took a few minutes to cast on him a hiding spell so he could run further without the soldiers' knowledge.

Finally, she transferred the remaining magic in her body into the amulet and gave it to him, which was unfortunately too large of an amount of magic to handle and damaged her hands. Mahkia ran as she told him to, and she was left with her injury, too tired to run. The soldiers captured her there, in the alcove, and took her to Unyct.

Mahkia kept the amulet his whole life, drawing no power from it, but rather using it to feel the remaining energy of his older sister as a memory of her, and what her magic had felt like when she healed. Legend holds that at the moment of her death, it dulled in color to the ash-grey it is today.

It is kept in storage beneath the house of the rorak, heavily guarded with other artifacts to make sure that no enemies could possibly reach it.

Manufacturing process

The stone must have been melded into the preferred form by Amadiah, and then was carved by her while still hot.
