Lekatash

"It doesn't matter if not a single person in all of Ekaia knows your name—Evendur always will, and so will I."
Tekina to Lekatash

Lekatash is the god of perseverance and quiet strength. In the beginning he was insecure and greatly feared being worthless, and so he took every opportunity to demonstrate the depth of his power and help all those he came in contact with, mostly for the purpose of spreading his name and following. From the beginning he was drawn to Tekina, and it was not long before the two were deeply in love. She told him that his value did not come from his power or his followers, but from within himself, and that nothing could ever take away that which had been given to him by Evendur.   He struggled with his identity and feeling of worth for most of his life, but slowly Tekina managed to build him up, and he finally renounced his desire for fame and adoration when he alone managed to defeat a white dragon called Saurivloex who was menacing an entire region, and declined to share his identity with those he had saved.

Eketshastikelost

Lekatash and Tekina were in the Valley of the Meydra following Lekatash's defeat of Saurivloex when they were seen by Madjei. Madjei's heart was seized by jealousy, as he had always felt deeply lonely, isolated by his own immense power. He assumed the form of Celeyra, goddess of friendship and beauty and best friend of Tekina, and approached, asking Tekina to meet her shortly in a faraway region, saying it was urgent. A few days after Tekina had departed, Madjei approached Lekatash, congratulating him on his victory, and asked him to come with him to the north to examine a clutch of eggs which he feared were white dragons as well. Lekatash accepted, still glowing with the praise, and went with Madjei to a place that is now called Eketshastikelost, or "prison cave," in northern Kroshesket. While there, Madjei pushed Lekatash into a pit and buried him under the ice, which he enchanted to be immovable. There Lekatash remained, bemoaning his foolishness and swearing in the sight of Evendur that he would never again give another thought to fame or praise. He was trapped for many years, praying to Evendur, meditating, and trusting in Tekina, before he was found. They rejoiced in being reunited and vowed to travel the world together, finally have a real family, and never again be apart. They were together again for one hour and seventeen minutes before Evendur called the Meydra home, and their spirits left their bodies entwined together. A large temple to both deities is built above the place where their bodies are thought to rest. Lekatash is typically portrayed as a man with long white hair to his waist, snow-white skin, and grey eyes, wearing a tattered white tunic with a small red diamond over his heart. The native people of this region of Kroshesket are born with snow-white hair and skin even to this day.

Relationships

Lekatash and Tekina were both quite young when they had their first child, a daughter whom they named Jeka. However, when she was very small, she was stolen away by slavers. The two were heartbroken and searched for years. She was an adult by the time they found her, going by the name Gisei. They rejoiced to know she was safe and healthy but could never have another child after this, unable to imagine going through such loss again. Though they promised to put these fears behind them when they were reunited, there was not enough time before the Death of the Meydra. However, in the same moment he took all the Meydra up into the Outer Planes, Evendur saw fit to transform the love between them into the last Meydra, whom he named Kallistos. The only relationship Kallistos had with his parents was through prayer, but they both loved him dearly, even through his many mistakes.

Followers

Lekatash's followers are a quiet lot, spending much of their time praying and meditating and placing great emphasis on quiet good deeds and acts of charity. They are more common in Talazic than anywhere else in the world, and almost always also have a significant devotion to Tekina. They wear white robes and the symbol of Lekatash, a cave.
