Hawke Eldemarr

Hawke Wheaton, better known as Hawke Eldemarr or, simply, the Champion, was a powerful and famous adventuring paladin active in the kingdom of Selzoryn in the EL 4490s. He was born in the small kingdom of Veltonshire shortly before it was claimed by Selzoryn, and served the crown starting in his early adulthood. He was in the Order of the Substratum, devoted to familial protection through the examples of Olanna and Corinnis.
Hawke was given the honorary elven title Eldemarr, meaning "silver among stone," by a Selzoryn village of wood elves whom he saved from devastation at the hands of orcs. He carried the title proudly for the rest of his life, and continued to actively combat raiders such as orcs and hobgoblins, saving many people. His greatest triumph is remembered to have been his narrow defeat of the orc barbarian Tobag Stonecrusher, a zealot of Illethar and the leader of the orc army Aglish do Dulm, with whom he had clashed on multiple occasions before. He married at 31 to a Selzoryn woman named Lessa, with whom he had one son.
Hawke turned his focus towards Vetrano the Illustrious as he began to rise in prominence and abuse his power. Hawke went into hiding after he liberated the town of Merivite from Vetrano's hold, though he continued to fight for justice. He did not have any known contact with anyone for three years, at which point he, along with a few unknown allies, made an attempt to surprise Vetrano and kill him. The attempt failed, and Vetrano destroyed them all and used Hawke's corpse as a zombie slave for about three years afterwards.
