Captopict

A captopict is a type of enchanted image that acts as a one-way gateway to a sort of minor demiplane. A wizard skilled enough to create one may build in any number of conditions which would grant access to the demiplane. If the captopict is destroyed—typically no mean feat indeed, as most have many built-in safeguards to discourage or prevent such an outcome—the demiplane is as well, and all foreign creatures and items within it are expelled, usually somewhat injuriously.
Typically, creatures within a captopict exist in a state of suspense, not aging nor healing. It is considered a cruel form of punishment and in most places the already elite practice is restricted to only certain officials.
