The world of Eisotir

This world is a highly magically and technologically advanced one set in high middle ages to renaissance ages. More advanced metallurgy mixed with magic, chemistry, and general biological sciences are beginning to surface. In this world, racial and gender discrimination is high. Humans themselves have very little prejudice among themselves, but often look down at elves and dwarves for their past discrimination against humans. Humans rarely look down at demihumans, for they were in the same boat at one point. Humans discriminate moderately on gender. Healers are almost always women, and most leaders are men. Women are given voting power, and it isn't uncommon to see a woman in charge of resource management or tactical management, but actual command and rule are often reserved for men.

Dwarves are fairly racially prejudiced, even among themselves. The mountain dwarves consider themselves superior, even to other dwarves. They are particularly against humans, though with the technological advances the human race has been making they've are willing to tolerate them. Hill Dwarves are known for being very accepting of other races. There isn't much discrimination among the gender of dwarves.

Elves tend to look down upon dwarves, and even discrimiate against other elves. High elves are considered superior and shun their wood elf brothers. They have no particular feelings for or against dark elves. Elves view both genders as fully capable of all things.

Demihumans, such as the catfolk, gnomes, orcs, and demonkin all have extremely varied societies. They are usually very prejudiced against most other races, and have very little room to discriminate on gender. However, there are far to many demihumans to say this to be true for all.
