Golden Lion Fibula

"It is not until you are living among lions that you understand how fragile life is." - Carren Bloxen
The Golden Lion fibula is a brooch for fastening garments, typically at the left shoulder.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The body or plate, is solid, flat, wide, was ornately decorated. On the back side of the body was a pin that was used to fasten the clothing. The fibula is closed by connecting the end of the pin to a catch plate.

Significance

A Golden Lion fibula is the secret symbol for the Adventurers League. It was meant as a message to all fellow members that the individual wearing the fibula was on an active mission for the adventurers league, and that others reactions should be tempered with that knowledge. Those that do not recognize the Golden Lion's significance see merely a ornate fibula to secure ones clothes, nothing out of the ordinary.

The way in which the Golden Lion was worn could be used to send a message to other league members. If the Golden Lion was inverted it meant that the wearer was in distress or was requesting aid. If the fibula's head was pointed to the ground it meant that the member was looking for a safe place to bed down or hide. If the fibula's head was pointed to the sky it meant that they were advertising their ability to look out for other members.
