Tinisin Nomads

Seed Idea:

Nomadic people who were the forebears of the Kejasi. They worship the Moon Deities Kastir and Kastris instead (male aspect twin is more heavily favored) and have a long-standing feud with their kin to the north. The disconnect is rooted in an ancient story about two siblings inheriting stock and one of them stealing more than their share of horses. Each side tells a different story, with the culture in question coming out on 'top' with the superior horses. Sun-horses (Alsa) are courser, stocky and travel across mountain ranges with ease. Moon-horses (Kastri) glide across the deserts like wraiths, they are sleek and elegant with silky manes and tails. Both make for deadly archer mounts and have endless stamina. When crossed with other horse breeds, the progeny generally inherits the Alsa or Kastri stamina and brains.

Tinisin nomads are usually humans with dark skintones ranging from a light bronze to a deep ebony. They favor loose flowing clothing appropriate for desert life and have a matriarchal culture. Shamans are particularly feared; they allegedly ‘sell their souls’ to the Ethereal in return for protection. The truth is a little more complex, as they enter a binding contract with an Ethereal being. What the being gets from it depends on the contract.

(Outsiders believe the nomads used to have a Dragon Clan protector, but lost them. Summoning from the Ethereal became a poor substitute. The truth is the Nomads were forced to seek the Summoning after a Clan of Dragons took issue with their ancestors and tried to kill them all.) Sometimes these contracts go poorly, so becoming a Shaman is both a huge risk and a great honor. They serve as the protectors of their family groups. Summons are usually Ria En or Daro En, with the rare Seros En being summoned.
