The Seven Great Clans

The seven great Clans rose from the bowels of the earth avoiding a frightening fate and terrible enslavement. Highly militarized, traditional and stubborn to a fault. These dwarves have been on Far Reach nearly as long as the dragons themselves.

Structure

Clan Deepseer: The ancients, the prophets, the runesmiths. They keep the histories, the grudges, and the secrets of the seven clans. Many speculate that they may know the true reason for the tsunami, but are yet to divulge it.   Clan Skraghilt: The most militant of the clans, members of the Skraghilt form the Gurn's Guard.   Clan Rurikson: The clan of kings, the largest number of High Kings hails from this clan. Prone to swear unfathomable oaths consequently have the largest amount of Slayer-Sworn in their midst.   Clan PywoBragger: The brewers and the alchemist the dwarves that blur the line between ale and alchemy and many of their brews are known to have extraordinary effects.   Clan GromrilShield: The clan of miners, engineers, and smiths. In days before the Church and the Flood, they were known for operating large automatons, who knows what they have done with the unfathomable amounts of Mithril discovered under Yroham.   Clan Boatmurdered: Legend has it that during the enslavement these dwarves were made to pilot boats across underground waterways. many drowned, too many to count, but the clan learned. They swore a grudge against all bodies of water to sail and conquer all of them. Historically they have very close ties with Clan Deepseer aiding in the recovery of many a sunken artifact.   Clan Gnarlbeards: The rangers, the wanderers, the delvers, the hunters. A clan few in number dedicated to the discovery of threats in the wilds and the depth of caverns. In the past have been known to associate greatly with the Black Spiders. It is customary for these dwarves to dye their beards black and wear dour garments.

Entirely Dwarven.

Military

Though the formal Military force of the Seven Clans is not impressive, almost every dwarf has received military training in one form or another and every clan keeps its own militia. If necessity arises around 60% of the population is capable of forming into combat-ready units. This form of almost unanimous militarization has helped the seven clans maintain the sovereignty and win many a war.
