The Black Spiders

A shadowy guild centered around the retrieval and rediscovery of Drow relics and culture. Black garbed agents skulk through every city recruiting the suitable into their ranks. Earning gold by thievery, drug trade, hired killings, and other illicit dealings. Mistrusted and hated, but always elusive the Black Spiders ply their trade-in service to some shadowy purpose.

Structure

Though unknown the most informed speculate that the Black Spiders answer to some authority in their own ranks, a guild master of sorts or a council of similar figures.
At least three ranks have been identified. Neophytes the youngest and the least experienced. Acolytes or Delvers those whose profession it is to venture into the caverns below Phurg and recover trinkets and artifacts. And priests, arcane casters that serve as some form of spiritual leaders for the Black Spiders.
Lately, another kind of spider has been seen, sporting heavier armor and powerful weapons have been seen on the outskirts of Phurg.

The exact assets are unknown. Though it is presumed that they possess a formidable pseudo-military force.

History

Formed somewhere around 1800 SDA the guild never revealed its agenda. For the longest time, they raided the lowest reaches of the Phurg caverns. Sometime around the AL 30 they discovered something in those caverns and since then begun at first secretly then openly amassing weapons, armor, and provisions for some unknown threat.
