#48 Dangerous Scouting
General Summary
The adventurers easily hide from the approaching demonic creature, recognizing it as the same type of creature they narrowly escaped in the graveyard at Delevir while being attacked by Veron. Tia Tsukiko uses invisibility to continue down the road to the fortress. They pass a few more demonic creatures, but are easily able to avoid them.
They arrive at the road across from fortress itself, and find a small camp of various demons along the road, as well as two lines of bound prisoners. Just as they arrive, a bridge of fire materializing from the road to the fortress, and the prisoners are lead across by a guard. They approach while remaining invisible, and the bridge does not seem to harm the prisoners walking on it.
They make plans to follow across with the next group of prisoners, but for a short time, the invisibility spell drops and they are noticed by one of the fiends guarding the prisoners. They are able to escape down the road with invisibility, and Korradin Xerthall crafts a cave in the side of the cliff face for them to stay.
However, before turning in for the night, Korradin and Draktus Glayde get into a scuffle that escalates into a fight. Eventually they stop, but not before a passing patrol takes notice of noise and investigates the pile of rocks blocking the entrance to the cave. The adventurers manage to kill it, but not before it makes enough noise to bring most of the demons from the camp running towards them.
They flee down the road, but see no immediate paths to escape. Just as their strength is fading, they notice the whisper of a blue dress from the plateau above, followed by a rockslide. The rockslide covers enough of the road behind them to allow Korradin to create a small ilusory rock that the party hides in. Despite a myrmidon being called from the fortress, they remain undetected, and the party of demons begins to search elsewhere.
