Linya, the Goddess of Aarana

Linya is one of two sibling gods. As a goddess of nature and peace, Linya is a stark contrast to her brother Kuya. Kuya is a soul of War, Conflict, and Conquest. As her brother Kuya leaned more for the technological advancement of mortal society, Linya found herself rapt by the growth of the lands that would soon be known as The Ascendancy. Linya did her best to help those mortals who chose the Natural life of the Ascendancy, but war is a harsh and brutal tide that cannot so easily be staved. In an attempt to protect the beauty she found in the Ascendancy, she sacrificed her physical body to become The Great Tree Aarana. For years to come, mortals would build cities in her bark, forge empires by her roots, and thrive on the fruit of her branches. Centuries after the fall of the gods, Kuya would return to speak his sorrows only to find that his dear sister could never again hear his words. Nevertheless, Kuya would abandon his War-like ways to stand guard at the base of his sister's tree, speaking to her, telling her the tales of his life for the rest of time, even as the world around them falls unto ashes.
