Lava Leaf is a rare and temperamental plant that only grows in very specific environments. It has a single stalk with large leaves. The plant itself is charcoal black and the veins that run through the plant glow with the reds and oranges of lava. It can be found in the shallow edges of underground lava flows or lakes. You will seldom find it in groups of more than six plants if it is ever found at all.  Harvesting Lava Leaf is not only dangerous due to the environment but also it is the same temperature as the lava it grows in. This often requires magical means or special equipment to harvest it. Once harvested Lava Leaf maintains its temperature and color for two to three days.   
Lava Leaf is highly sought after by Herbalists and Alchemists for its inherently magical properties. It is quite effective in potions that are fire based, fire resistance, fire breathing, etc. 
Legend has it that Lava Leaf will occasionally flower. The flower petals if properly harvested are one of the rarest and most valuable ingredients in Eglorix. When a plant flowers and blooms it weakens the barrier between the plane of fire and this plane. If a cluster of six were to flower in unison it is said that it would open a portal between the two. Some attribute this as the cause for some of the unexpected volcanic eruptions of the Spire and other areas of Eglorix.
