Freeport

"A city full of secrets, accessible only by boat, dead for an age, full of ambition and drive, challenging the rule of Kings? All in one place? What are we waiting for sounds like my kind of place. Pirates? Self proclaimed title, I'm a pirate now. We are going."
The Pirate

A City on the Edge

The Wild Seas claimed many lives but it also claimed whole cities and allegedly kingdoms. Freeport is one of those towns. The Isle of Dihza was ravaged by the Wild Seas and unsafe for settlement in the Age of Isolation. In the prior age a great port city dominated the east of the isle. It was the last port before the open ocean and thrived on sea trade and became a cultural haven for those across Dane, The Fallion Archipelago and beyond. At least that is what the one history discovered by Elisander Baxter says. Elisander Baxter is a self-made pirate with a colorful past. Some say he defected from the Zaran Corsairs, and some say he grew up on the streets of Port Altair. Shortly after the seas calmed he came upon a history from the previous ages detailing cities and place he could find no other reference to. Deciding they were ripe for plundering he sailed off to make his name. The first few locations were desolate and only held meager treasures but the city-state known in the history as Otisa was neither.

Empty

When Elisander's Pirates arrived at Otisa they marveled at the vast City that lie before them. It was vast and beautiful and completely devoid of any signs of inhabitants. Based on the loose pirate code Elisander claimed the city as his own and established Freeport as a haven to free peoples and those in his line of work. He found a whole dry dock full of ships, a small navy with no crew. He split his crew and made captains, sent treasure and ships to hire/acquire people and goods to fill his city and his Navy.

Freeport Rises

The word spread amongst like-minded individuals and the Port grew and thrived. Elisander has been able to fend off more than a few coupe attempts and continues to deny the Kingdom of Lux's claims that the city belongs to them. It once again is a thriving city on the edge of "civilization" with untold secrets within its empty halls and districts. It welcomes all to its docks and establishments as long as you have the coin and your blade stays where it should.
