Celestial Essence

Celestial Essence is something unique to Mitari and the Desolation. Legend has it Celestial Essence is the crystalized blood of the gods who fought in and caused the Desolation itself. These crystals vary in size, shape and potency and can only be found deep with in a Warp Schism.

Celestial Essence is the reason most Delvers go out into the Desolation or at least why most delves get funded in the first place. Equally, it is the reason why most delves fail and why delvers are lost deep with a Warp Schism.

Each piece of Celestial Essence reacts differently to the person attempting to draw upon it. It has been observed that some crystals can be entirely dormant in certain hands, where some proved entirely different results. Seasoned Osman shamans are sought out to help tap into Celestial Essence and control it. Some Celestial Essence crystals are kept in secret vaults because any who have attempted to draw from them are either driven mad or simply consumed by the power within. In most cases, an experienced shaman can utilize the unique magic of the Osman and their knowledge of the Desolation to unlock the powers within safely and with time train others to harness the ability.

Celestial Essence Is not only sought out by those looking to use its power but by those eager to destroy it. There are groups that seek its destruction under many different ideologies and occasionally different religions. Most Shamans will say that the crystal has returned to the primordial essence that made up Eglorix and can no longer be attributed to one diety or the other. However, there are a few cases where it seems clear where they originated from and the original mark of deity remains.

It should be noted that Celestial Essence has been declared as heresy by the Church of Bistan and to be destroyed by the Zealots and Inquisitors.
