Starfall Lake

Kentier folklore says that the lake was formed when one of the stars fell from the heavens and struck the riverland. Indeed it's common name is merely a direct translation from the kentier tongue, and they aren't known to be particularly creative in their naming conventions.
Situated at the terminus of  the Vartleid River, Starfall Lake is the second largest standing body of water in all of Egera. As such it serves as both an important regional landmark and an important ecosystem unto itself. The lake region is rife with plants and animals, some of which can be found nowhere else in the world. Fish and waterfowl are plentiful, and even seabirds have been spotted on occasion, having traveled upriver from the coast.
Upon the lake's western shore, where the river empties, stands the city-state of Ismere. Ismere, the river, and the lake all serve as important points for trade between Everhost and the rest of the continent. Barges travel up and down the river between Everhost and Ismere at almost all times.
