Treuno

Sandstone citadel lying on the southwestern coast of Laguarda, perched upon the salt cliffs, is Treuno. A famous and well-loved city typically depicted as a cluster of domes, arches, and romantic vines weaselling their way across the architecture. To those who call it home, it is the squeak of seagulls, the breaking of laughter within small clusters of friends and tourists alike, the flap of rich embroidered sunshades in the breeze, and the smell of grilled meats, breads, and fruits. It is the sitting of wine from a local vineyard on the tongue, the gentle pressure of sandals on the feet, the salt in the wind, the fluffy clouds that laze by like the people below them.

Treuno is the capital of the south counties, and one of Laguarda's many favoured cities. A host of many festivities, competitions and events with the main castle being open to tourists when not inhabited by the royal family. Treuno's high walls make it somewhat isolated compared to other cities in it's position, choosing not to interact with it's neighbours and in times of trouble it is known to close into itself. Treuno is a city not a stranger to siege or besiegement, and holds many secrets within it's walls to deal with unwanted intruders that hope to breech it's tanned walls and spires.

Demographics

As most cities in Laguarda happen to be, Treuno is no exception to a South-Sea Merfolk majority amongst it's population. With it's position on the coast and next to the south sea it is often a meeting spot for those Merfolk who have not forsaken their amphibian heritage to dwell with those that have.
