Scrying Bubbles

A product of expanded illusionary magic, Scrying bubbles are small summonable orbs that can be used to scry or surveil upon any area that the summoner can recall. Often used because of their plausible deniability with blown bubbles or soap bubbles, and their impermanency.

History

The History of Scrying Bubbles goes way back to a time when magic was more of an illusionary form of entertainment more than an actual force to be reckoned with. Often used within kids shows or to bedazzle faire-goers, magic was never used as a proper functional skill and more of a loose art and party trick. Summoning bubbles was a very common affair.

The act of summoning bubbles would be used often in seaside towns and board walks as a way to draw in gawkers to a wider show. Bubbles can be blown often by kids using ordinary kids toys such as bubble blowers and shops that would sell them would also have automatic bubble blowers to lure kids towards buying and get them excited, those able to conjurer this illusory magic would employ this slight of hands to make kids thing they were being led towards these types of shops when actually they were being led towards a puppet show or alternative form of entertainment. They would bank on a child's excitement and wishy-washy memory to be led astray.

As magic was later being covertly developed from a show of smoke and mirrors into a functional art that could be properly used, the people cultivating this new age of magic wished to keep their intentions under wraps and such they would adjust magic that was understanded and accepted by society and twist them to their own benefit. This included the scrying bubbles.
