Tom's Run : Swamp Village of Gothmyr   OVERVIEW: To the immediate west of the Sudath river, Is a strip of land that then immediately drops into a subtopical wetland swamp. islands of hard grassed land poke out randomly throughout the swamp, with grove trees and long rooted bushes surround them and cover them. on the edge, is a large group of islands that have stilt homes and buildings made of stone and wood, high above the wet stagnant water. This is the loose collection of homes and businesses that are named Tom's Run Village.   LOCATION: Tom's Run village is south of the Icrcrown Lake, in the southern middle area of Gothmyr. It sits NE of Scarsburg also directly south of Kirklee.   LEADERSHIP: Tom's Run is ruled by the Council of Nine- three representatives from each race: Human, Halfling and Dwarf. They are elected every 1-5 years. The time between elections determined by the timing of the Low Winter Tide. Each of the three races have separate elections, so the council isn't replaced all at once.   Even though it’s a swamp, it’s tidal- the water level changes throughout the year. If the Low Winter Tide occurs at the Mud Moon, it’s time for the election of a third of the council. Elections held second day after the Mud Moon sets, usually ending with Election Festival, a three day revelry of drinking and sharing of foods.   The Council decides by secret ballot all their decisions. But only 7 of the 9 actually cast votes. Their voting mechanism is that each has two buttons (yea/nay or for/against) and when pressed, a marble of red (example, for YEA) or a marble of green (for NAY) is dropped into the voting box. Only 7 of the 9 sets actually has marbles, this changes each time they vote, randomly. So you still vote, you just might not be counted. The voting box is then opened and votes are counted, and the decision is made final.   Currently the council is made of:

Outside of Tom's Run, seven days travel Northwest through bug and alligator infested wetlands, is a ruins. The ruins of an ancient temple to a long dead cult. This temple in in the shape of a half-sunken castle, with broken spires for towers, and crumbling moss covered stones supporting the remaining keep. Skiff runners and gator hunters call the temple "Hellmaw Keep". It is infested with lizardmen and grippli.
