okay so, you want to write about Barasovia. Here's what you need to know.
Barasovia was originally a barony for the King of Anistlav. The Barasovian Baron was a war hero Caturix Boian, a General that had more men listening to Him than to Anistlav's other Generals. The Generals grew jealous of the men's loyalty to Boian, and began whispering into the ear of the king's advisors. they threw Boian and his loyal other barons new demands 7950: They demanded six times the amount of processed Indigo dye from the imports from Anwar. This angered the Western barons along with Boian, but they endured. Finally, when the barons failed to produce this additional Indigo, the workers and caravaneers were punished, they revolted and the corrupted Anistlav military rolled into Western Anistlav and killed five of the barons, their families, their staff and anyone holding a pitchfork. Their homes were burnt and the land was razed.
This began the War of Indigo Aggression.
The war was a fight of the common man against the Lavi nobility and their corruptness. The western people of Lavi were a stoic and stubborn bunch, they fought for 9 years in a bloody land war. The war ended in 7959. All lands west of the Tos and Oronti mountain ranges were freed from Anistlav rule. The peoples of the land, named Boian their "Emperor", and he Refused it.  This first appointed Emperor of Barasovia was a man destined to rule by the gods themselves. After the War of Indigo Aggression, A human male, Scutsev, of twenty seven winters walked into the council main hall of the Castle Barasovia with three hundred citizens behind him, chanting his name. With glowing halo over his head and two Winged Aasimar at his side, the angels declared Scutsev the chosen of the Pantheon to lead. With no way of denying this claim, Scutsev was made First Prince of Barasovia. The Angels helped Scutsev take his place and establish the capitol city of Kodleea. Emperor Scutsev ruled without opposition until his death of his ninetieth winter. Scutsev was born twin sons, and thus began the familial rule of the Principality of Barasovia. Emperor Scutsev was awarded a pure platinum scepter, dyed indigo as a symbol of the end of the War of Indigo Aggression, which prompted their secession.

A kingdom of dwarves, who were also key in freeing Barasovia from Anistlavi rule, swore fealty to The rule of the Emperor and became an ally of the people, and their ruler. The king of the dwarves, King Uglon Anvilbiter, sits at the hand of the Emperor, as Royal Advisor and military General. his partnership has always existed since the formation of Barasovia.

 The people love their current ruler. Prince Radu, actually is an Emperor, but he refuses to be called that, out of respect to his grandfather, the last of Scutsev name. 
((This is transylvania....romania...and the urals..all rolled into the Ottoman empire being recently kicked out. this is a land who still remembers turmoil, starving andsplitting a potato with fifteen others to survive. They don't brook corruption and witchcraft, superstition and old rituals thrive here. The dark shadows in the woods are "demons looking for supper" and strange noises are ignored, but window shutters are locked. that kind of place.
