Johann van der Smut
Johann van der Smut, or Goldmember, is a gold-obsessed villain who attempted to steal all of the
Earth's gold with a specially crafted magnet-satellite. He was stopped by
Solid Nitrogen after a battle across space and on the surface of the sun.
Appearance
Goldmember is a balding, blonde, older man.
Goldmember is always seen wearing gold-colored clothing and gold jewelry. He also wears a pair of gold Dutch clogs.
Personality and Motives
Goldmember is very obsessive when it comes to gold. He does everything he does with the intention to gain more wealth, usually in gold.
Goldmember is also known to form nasty habits, such as peeling off pieces of his own skin and eating them or speaking to his armpits.
History
During the early 20th century, Goldmember was able to gain massive amounts of wealth by opening the popular nightclub,
Studio 69. Using his wealth, Goldmember illegally pursued his gold obsession through organized crime.
In the 1940s, Goldmember began his plan to steal of of the Earth's gold using a specially created magnet that would orbit the Earth from space and pull all of the gold from the crust. After sending the magnet into space, along with himself in a rocket, he was stopped by Solid Nitrogen after a battle across space and on the surface of the sun. Solid Nitrogen destroyed the magnet and returned all stolen gold to Earth.
Goldmember was not killed in the battle, and returned to his life on Earth.
