Aasimar

Aasimar bear within their souls the light of the heavens. They are descended from the primordial that once embodied the Empyrean Firmament and carry a touch of Its ancient power. Now far removed from the lost world of Edras, Aasimar are still born to serve as champions of the gods, their births hailed as blessed events.
As a general rule, aasimar are a wise and charismatic race, possessed of strong insights and a powerful allure with which most races could not compare. Aasimar are also quite perceptive, noticing things that others do not. They have a reputation as beings of goodness, mercy, and light despite the fact that they are just as capable of cruelty and evil as any other race. Though many aasimar are virtuous and good in nature, thanks in a large part to their celestial creator, not all are. They naturally tend to be drawn to justice and law, though there are many outliers who embrace chaos or selfishness.
Aasimar frequently become adventurers, as they often do not quite feel at home in mundane society and feel the pull of some greater destiny. Because of their ties to Oros and celestial beings, many aasimar are likewise drawn to a religious path.
While aasimar are strident foes of evil, they typically prefer to keep a low profile. An aasimar inevitably draws the attention of evil cultists, fiends, and other enemies of good, all of whom would be eager to strike down a celestial champion if they had the chance. Because of their reputation for being generally good creatures, they are sometimes targeted for killing or capture by evil beings, such as black dragons or demons.
Aasimar have the blood of the first Celestial running through their veins and as a result look much like glorious humanoids with lustrous hair, flawless skin, and piercing eyes that sometimes glow with holy fire. Nearly all aasimar are uncommonly beautiful and still, and tend to be significantly taller than most humanoids as well. Most aasimar have pupil-less pale white, gray, or golden eyes and silver hair, but they could have other celestial traits, such as emerald, silver, or golden skin, feathers mixed in with their hair, pearly opalescent or even brilliant topaz eyes. Some even have small, iridescent scales like couatl or light coverings of feathers on their shoulders where an angel's wings might sprout.
The traits afforded to aasimar by their heritage, such as their beauty, often cause them to be targeted by the slave trade.
