Kosmo is always trying to enlighten those around him. It has led him to be welcomed and then asked to leave many places as people get tired of his constant babbling and despite knowing much and letting others know that he knows much, he has managed to make quite a few friends and contacts in the various realms. He was once in a caravan travelling to a library to study, when they were attacked. He helped defend the caravan and took out two of the attackers. Alas, the caravan fell and he surrendered to the attackers, who were under contract to take out someone in the caravan. The problem is, they were not quite sure who it was so Kosmo assisted them in weeding out the person. This person was accused and found guilty of causing hundreds of deaths so it was understandable why the caravan was attacked. For helping them, Kosmo was recruited and thus he joined a motley outfit of outcasts known as the Vile Appetite.
