Tieflings

A planetouched race, the tieflings are the result of the fraternization of humanoids and fiends. Tieflings can be formed in a variety of ways. They could be the descendant of an individual who formed a pact with a devil, the result of a union between a humanoid and a fiend, created by imbibing the bodily fluids of a Sybriex, the outcome of a humanoid being imbued with fiendish powers, or any number of other events tainted by the touch of fiends. 
Generally, tieflings are regarded with suspicion, if not outright hostility or horror, by the common folk. Tieflings will, in most cases, be either great forces of good or vile enforcers of villainy. The evil tieflings may worship Asmodeus or the demon lords of the Abyss, and many of them forge pacts with these profane entities in return for power. Tieflings of good alignment may become courageous crusaders who smite evil, rejecting the fiendish blood that runs through their veins. 
The greatest tiefling to grace the history of Edradus is Psalm. Psalm had a rough life and ran away from home to adventure and see the world. Eventually, when she was half-starved to death and dehydrated, she was contacted by an entity that offered her a chance to survive and gain power in return for servitude. She accepted and became a warlock of Theyodis. Eventually, she joined the Crimson Dragons, became the goddess of penance, and forsook Theyodis by destroying their pact and instead using her divine powers to become a celestial warlock.
