The Orcusword

This artifact is a weapon that was wielded by Orcus when he was a Balor. It is one of the strongest magical blades, granting divine spellcasters access to all sorts of evil magic. This sword is a greatsword sized for a large creature. It was in the Plane of Negative Energy in a citadel called Tchian-Sumere and was guarded by two powerful warriors devoted to Orcus. Currently, the sword is in the hands of Corbin Syksy, an Eladrin Vampire Paladin devoted to Orcus. Corbin originally stormed Tchian-Sumere and obtained the sword with the intention of slaying Orcus. Eventually he fell to Orcus’s foul will and slew his party with the blade, sealing his fate as an Oathbreaker and Devotee of Orcus.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

This greatsword is sized to be used by a large sized creature. It deals additional necrotic damage and gives divine spellcasters access to many evil spells, primarily focusing on necromancy. Non-divine spellcasters, as well as divine spellcasters, become able to create and lead undead warriors.

Significance

This large-sized greatsword was the weapon used by the demon lord Orcus when he was a balor and not yet the powerful demon lord that he is today.
