Personal history
One of the most ancient beings in existence, the Nameless Mist, also referred to as the Magnum Innominandum by occult scholars, is the spawn of Azathoth. Little is known about the Nameless Mist beyond its lineage and that it is the being from whom Yog-Sothoth sprang. The Nameless Mist is believed to simply wander the cosmos, its aim and desires unknowable. Being the direct spawn of Azathoth, the Nameless Mist is classified as an Outer God. Its powers are unknown beyond its immortal and incorporeal nature, though it is believed that it is capable of warping space, time, and reality by merely existing.
The supposed powers of the Magnum Innominandum make some eldritch academics believe that it inhabits Edradus as a rolling mist of devastation, destroying and creating islands, sending ships forward and backward in time, and warping sea beasts into unrecognizable horrors. Regardless of the truth, some secret cults - generally based on the coasts - revere the Nameless Mist and offer sacrifices in its honor.
