Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Physically, the Great Purple Worm is imposing. Its size brings it overwhelming strength and resilience. Its agility is nothing out of the ordinary for a purple worm. It may be perhaps a bit slower in terms of agility than the smaller specimens of its species.

Body Features

The Great Purple Worm's skin is marred and scarred by years of battle against hardened soldiers and experienced adventurers. It is said to be five times larger than any other specimen and many times more deadly. It's scales have hardened to be comparable to pure adamantine while still retaining a strange form of grace.

Personal history

Nothing is known of the Great Purple Worm's life before it accidentally burst up through the ground in the Archduchy of the Dales. There it faced off against adventurers, warriors, and mages before it returned to the depths of the Lands Below. Since then, many have tried and failed to slay the beast and claim not only the prestige that would come with the act but also the scales, teeth, venom, and other buts that could be salvaged and used in the creation of powerful items. 
One of the few groups who has faced the beast and lived to tell the tale is Varahosst's Host. Though the creature took a limb and an eye from members of the group, they managed to beat it back and even take one of its teeth as a trophy.
