The Dragon Knights

The Dragon Knights are the most elite army in the Chromatic Vale, second only to those who fly under the Dragon Banner. The Dragon Knights were formed approximately 70 years after the creation of the Chromatic Vale. Originally, the Dragon knights were meant to be an order of warriors who would patrol the lands surrounding the Chromatic Vale, but the numbers of recruits swelled beyond what was required for mere patrols and the order soon became the most elite army of soldiers readily available to the Chromatic Council.

Structure

The knightly order of the Dragon Knights has only a few ranks. The bottommost rank is that of the Knight, with the next step being the Knight-Commander, the next rank is the Knight-Lord-Commander who answers only to the Dragon Knight Grandmaster. Knights are the 'rank-and-file' of the order - although their title is one of nobility. Units of Knights are commanded by a Knight-Commander who acts as a squad leader and lieutenant to the Knight-Lord-Commander that they serve. Knight-Lord-Commanders are high ranking knights who command a large battalion of knights in times when a large number of knights are called to service, such as in war. Knight-Lord-Commanders answer to their respective branch's leader. Each of five branches has their leader named in the following way: (Colour) Dragon Knight Master. So the leader of the Red Dragon Knights would be formally titled as the Red Dragon Knight Master. The Dragon Knight Masters answer to the Dragon Knight Grandmaster. The Dragon Knight Grandmaster is the single highest ranking person in the entirety of the Order of the Dragon Knights.

Public Agenda

They serve the Chromatic Council and their goals. Each branch of the order is more heavily influenced by the draconic councilor who shares their colour, hence the Red Dragon Knights are more loyal and closely bound to the red dragon councilor than any of the other four draconic councilors.

Assets

Being the most elite humanoid army in the Chromatic Vale puts a wealth of power at the disposal of the Dragon Knights. They are outfitted with full armor and arms of their choice, generally plate armor with a melee weapon and a ranged option, plus a mount with armor.
