History

The Chronicle of Ascension is a magical item of immense power. Penned long ago by some forgotten being, the Chronicle of Ascension holds the secrets to godhood. The book is said to show its reader exactly what they need to know in order to become the god that they have the potential and will to become and nothing more. The book is capable of being used by one mortal every millennium. After being used, the book disappears before reappearing somewhere new in the world. The book is always guarded, though, so that only those who are truly looking to become deities and have the conviction to become gods may acquire it. 
The book is said to have been used by many mortals in order to be reforged into gods, though very few are known to have used it. Both the gods Shmeeg the Invincible and Leif Eriksson are known to have used the Chronicle, but it is not known if any of the other gods that live today are users of the Chronicle.
