Personal history
Bob Bearbreaker was born in a small village in the kingdom of Drelvik. Even as a child, his strength and aptitude for combat were great. When he grew into adulthood, he enlisted in the army and honed his innate strength and skill with a blade until he was a deadly champion that destroyed his foes on the field of battle with impunity. He also learned how to forge and maintain weapons and armor as part of his extra duties off of the field of battle.
After many battles against the small beasts and bands of cutthroats that roamed the land, Bob found the creature that would provide his kenning and become his favoured foe; the fearsome bear. In an act of might and martial prowess, Bob defeated a cave bear in single combat with only his hands, shattering a staggering amount of the creature's bones. After repeating the act a number of times for both entertainment and training, Bob left the army to pursue adventuring and to challenge himself further.
Bob joined the adventuring party that would one day be known as 'Varahosst's Host' and took on a quest from King Durnan of Drelvik. He, along with his companions, discovered the 'lost' chromatic dragons that had long been thought extinct. The party took up their cause which also solved the King's problem as the dragons' tunneling to the surface was causing many earthquakes in his realm. With these earthquakes stopped, Bob was bestowed the title of 'Knight of Drelvik' as well as being given a position of some import in the draconic army of Gorlanthor.
After a fateful trip to the plane of air, Xorenath, Bob, and Simon slew the cruel god of the north wind, Boreas, and Bob claimed his divine spark. With this, he became a lesser deity and thus ended the story of the bear-slayer and so began the ballad of the bear-god. Not long after, Bob joined Driggag Vokalen's Pantheon of Nature to gain followers and mutual protection with other gods who held dominion over aspects of nature. Bob, now acting on the material plane through avatars, joined Solvax on his quest to slay an elven god to gain a place in the Greenskin Pantheon but decided to abstain from the battle between Solvax and the outlaw god of the elves for the sake of honor after noticing that the god himself was not particularly evil.
Some time after witnessing Solvax's failed duel, Bob decided to pursue a vision he had a long time ago. He followed his memory to a forest where he found a colossal, hulking werebear wielding a massive and crude halberd. Enraged by a human encroaching upon its territory, the werebear revealed that it was the alpha of all werebears on Edradus. Thus, to prove that no other would ever hold dominion over any form of bear, Bob struck the alpha down in a single blow. He then claimed its halberd, which he dubbed the Halberd of the Alpha, which transferred the curse of the werebear to him and also recognized his status as the alpha, increasing his might and turning him into a dire werebear. Meanwhile, Bob's second avatar was in the Lands Below with the rest of Varahosst's Host. Together, they slew the four-armed dark iron and obsidian golem and claimed its treasure.
Bob joined Azrael and the party in his attempt to wrest the Inifinity Spindle from Raxivort. Once they had found him in his lair in the plane of Pandemonium, Bob decided to hear the creature's offer out. In return for Bob protecting him, Raxivort would offer his services as an agent and pull strings with other gods for favors for the rest of the party members. Bob accepted this deal, much to Azrael's dismay.
After taking some time away from the party to ravage the Plane of Air, Bob returned to his allies after receiving a prayer for help. His avatar appeared underwater in the crumbling hall of the Deepking of the Triton. Surrounded by one hundred royal guards as well as the king, who had used the powers of his magical trident to transform into a pseudodeity, Bob channeled all of his energy into focusing on attack. In a matter of seconds, he had decimated every single one of the guards and severely injured the king. He did, however, allow for his sharkfolk companion Finn to get the final blow on his hated enemy.
Before the final battles that his party would do together, Bob spent some time forging a masterful set of adamantine mountain plate armor for Simon to wear. He stylized the armor and even used some divine tricks to make it appear to shimmer and sway like robes. He then gifted the armor, which he had named the Red Death, to his wizardly compatriot prior to marching to battle against Tiamat's warriors and guardians. Bob himself managed to slay not one, but two of the great wyrms that beset his party, one of which was the spawn of Tiamat herself. However, during the final battle against Tiamat in her palace, both of Bob's avatars were destroyed by the Dragon Queen in a fit of rage after she learned that he had not only slain her favoured son but drained him of his blood to get a ritual ingredient for Simon and Xorenath.
After reconstituting his avatars, Bob sent one avatar to the Red Woods to lay the groundworks for the creation of a tribal chiefdom of werebears to live and protect the Pantheon of Nature while the second avatar flitted around Edradus to seek out groups of werebears to recruit. After gathering the werebears to the Red Woods, Bob claimed the title of chief and kept one of his avatars in the Red Woods to watch over the tribe.
