Tree of Life

A sacred area theorized to be the birth place of magic, the tree of life is located within the borders of the Hashin Republic and thus requires a journey for any mage to get to. No one without magic can actually get through the forest in which this tree resides in, and there is so much pure Kai in the area, that Daemons tend to stay well enough away from it.   The Tree of Life is named such because a mage, with the right item, can request to speak to someone who has died. This can be done for mutual interest, such as wanting to speak to a loved one who died before they had a chance to, or to ask if they want to return to the realm of the living as a spirit.   The Tree of Life makes it home in a destroyed keep, within the Forest of Sanctuary.

Purpose / Function

The Tree's purpose is to allow a mage to speak to the dead.

Architecture

The tree is almost seven stories tall with hundreds of extending branches, each with a small orb that hands from them. These orbs resemble the souls of the dead, as one winks out, another takes its place.

History

Not much is known about the Tree of Life or when it actually appeared, it was discovered shortly after the discovery of magic by a mage.

Tourism

Because mundanes can't enter the Forest of Sanctuary, only Mages are able to visit the tree and they can only visit it twice a year.
