A Daemon Storm gets its name from the hundred, sometimes, thousands, of
Daemon's that appear during a naturally occurring storm and also requires a high concentration of Befouled KaiĀ . The kind of weather that preludes such a storm is the same as any other storm out there, rain, lightning, heavy winds, it can be anything which makes predicting whether it'll be a Daemon Storm or not very difficult.
Only two such storms can ever exist at any given moment. Daemons take advantage of natural storms in order to catch humanity off guard.
Prelude
A red mist slowly creeps out of the storm when Daemons are on the verge of appearing, this mist is viewed as a warning to people. The mist itself is just as dangerous as the actual Daemons themselves as it is designed to confuse and disorient people.
How
Daemons utilize teleportation magic in order to bring their forces into these storms, by using the storm itself to mask their approach, they are able to catch defenders off guard. This same teleportation magic can be used to spirit away anyone that the Daemon's capture before any kind of a reactionary force can respond.
Two types of Storms
There are two types of Daemon storms. Raid, and Siege.
Raid
A Daemon Storm Raid contains a couple hundred Daemons, typically of small to medium size, this type of a storm is intended to hunt down people for capture either to convert to future soldiers or for food. These raids can also be used to soften up heavily defended targets for later sieges.
Siege
A Daemon Storm Siege contains thousands of Daemons, many of medium or large size and hundreds of smaller ones as well. These types of storms are designed to attack positions of strategic importance, like fortresses or even entire nations. Such a storm is considered a grave threat to even the largest of cities, as the amount of firepower Daemons bring to a Siege can easily overwhelm most bulwarks.
