Eden The Fallen Messiah Arc

Created and DM'ed By Dungeon Master Flexan
Eden: A Lost Continent off the Coast of Faerûn Eden is a mysterious and ancient continent located far beyond the western seas of Faerûn. Shrouded in myth and forgotten by most civilizations, it is a land of untamed wilderness, forgotten gods, and remnants of an age-old war between celestial and infernal forces. Legends speak of its divine origins—a paradise created by primordial deities, only to be corrupted by war, greed, and the influence of dark entities.   Geography & Landscapes Eden is a vast and diverse land, divided into distinct regions that reflect both its divine and corrupted past.   1. The Cradle of Divinity A lush and sacred land believed to be the birthplace of Eden’s first civilizations, the Cradle is filled with towering, luminous trees, floating isles, and shimmering rivers that glow under the moonlight. Ancient ruins of marble and gold stand as remnants of the god-touched cities that once flourished here. Now, the land is mostly inhabited by reclusive celestial beings, druids, and monks who seek enlightenment through the whispers of the forgotten gods.   2. The Shattered Expanse Once a mighty empire, the Shattered Expanse is now a vast desert of cracked earth, ruined temples, and ghostly echoes of a forgotten civilization. This wasteland was created in a cataclysmic battle between Eden’s celestial pantheon and an invading force of abyssal demons. Magic still lingers in the air, twisting reality and spawning chaotic anomalies. Wanderers in this land may stumble upon floating ruins, cursed artifacts, and lingering spirits seeking vengeance.   3. The Obsidian Abyss A region dominated by jagged black mountains and deep caverns filled with eldritch horrors. The Obsidian Abyss is believed to be the prison of some of the most ancient and malevolent entities ever to walk Eden. Dark cults thrive here, worshiping beings that predate even the gods. Strange, mutating flora and twisted creatures roam the abyssal depths, and some say that time itself bends and fractures in this forsaken land.   4. The Verdant Sea A dense jungle that stretches endlessly, the Verdant Sea is home to colossal beasts, lost ruins, and tribes that have never made contact with the outside world. The jungle conceals many secrets, from temples dedicated to forgotten deities to pools of divine ichor that grant great power—at a terrible cost. The Mohirriem people, devout followers of Raweniio, thrive here, guarding the sacred groves from outsiders.   5. The Ashen Isles A chain of volcanic islands surrounded by perpetual storms, the Ashen Isles are rumored to be the final refuge of the banished gods—those who betrayed Eden’s divine pantheon. The islands are littered with ancient battlefields where titanic beings once clashed, their weapons still embedded in the land itself. The sky burns red above these islands, and the seas around them are known to drive sailors mad.   6. The Underrealm A vast subterranean network of caverns, cities, and forgotten horrors that stretch beneath the entire continent. Unlike Faerûn’s Underdark, Eden’s Underrealm is home to bioluminescent fungi forests, underground rivers of liquid light, and entire cities built upon the backs of colossal, slow-moving creatures. Some scholars believe the Underrealm holds the key to Eden’s true origins.   History & Mythology Eden is steeped in mythology, many of which are tied to the gods that once walked its lands. It is said that the world was created as a divine sanctuary, a realm of harmony where the forces of light and dark existed in balance. However, greed and ambition corrupted this paradise, leading to an era known as The Sundering, a great celestial war that split the land apart and shattered divine unity.   Some of Eden’s most feared legends include:   The Fall of the First Pantheon – The gods that once ruled Eden were overthrown by their own creations, leading to divine exile, imprisonment, or outright destruction. Some gods still slumber beneath the land, waiting to rise again.   The Devourer’s Pact – A forbidden ritual said to grant mortals godlike power in exchange for their soul, leading to a cycle of would-be deities rising and falling.   The Black Star – A celestial body that appears only once every millennium, bringing with it apocalyptic omens and stirring the dead from their slumber.   Factions & Cultures Eden is home to many factions vying for power, knowledge, and survival.   The Mohirriem Tribes An indigenous people devoted to Raweniio, the Mohirriem live in harmony with the land, preserving its sacred balance. They see themselves as the last protectors of Eden’s divine legacy.   The Celestial Exiles A secretive order of fallen angels and celestial beings who seek to reclaim Eden from corruption. They operate from hidden sanctuaries, guiding heroes toward their divine destinies.   The Ashen Covenant A fanatical cult that believes the banished gods must be freed to bring about a new age. They operate in the shadows, gathering forbidden knowledge and ancient relics.   The Gilded Lords A cabal of powerful merchants, nobles, and warlocks who exploit Eden’s divine ruins for wealth and power. Many among them revere Avarice, the embodiment of greed.   Connection to Faerûn Eden remains a mystery to most of Faerûn, though whispers of its existence reach the ears of scholars and adventurers. Legends speak of ships vanishing in the western seas, only to return decades later, their crews aged yet untouched by time. Some believe the great powers of Faerûn, such as Waterdeep and Thay, seek to uncover Eden’s secrets, hoping to harness its forgotten magic.   Adventurers who seek Eden must first survive the Stormveil Maw, a supernatural storm that encircles the continent, swallowing any unworthy vessel. Only those chosen by fate—or by the gods themselves—can set foot upon Eden’s shores.
