The town of Xanu. The central town of the Western Ecurian Plains is a large town in size as well as population. A rather modern culture has developed with liberal views and practices. No Single race owns this town as it is the only one of its size within the Plains and the inhabitants welcome all trade and settlers to keep coin flowing and the town moving. With small farms on the outskirts and an artificial lake for a water supply, Xanu is an economic based town.
As well as being liberal and moderately wealthy, the town is a cultural hotspot due to the many races who pass through. It is home to the second largest theatre in all of Ecura, and is the Ecurian home of music and art, proudly being the only town with a Bards college. It also has a large library full of local history as well as books on Ecura and other areas. Not much of religion will be found here due to the citizens liberal stance. However instead of a government or regency, there is a Mayor elected once every fifteen years or upon death or critical illness of the standing mayor.
There is a multi raced guard who are lenient to newcomers within reason as they understand a multitude of cultural differences, however if you are born there, they show little in the way of mercy.

Demographics

Liberal on race, gender and religions as long as those religions aren't practiced in public. A moderately wealthy city generaly consisting of middle and upper class Citizens with the exception of one or two wandering beggars.
With coin constantly flowing there are multiple traders and blacksmiths and since it is the only place to shop at this magnitude in the Western Ecurian Plains, prices may be steep but if you're short on cash there is plenty to steal if you can manage it, or plenty of people you can do jobs for if you charge for your services.

Government

With one Mayor being elected every fifteen years the people must trust their chosen candidate to run their city for the next generation or so. The election Campaigns can last up to a year before a new Mayor is put into place, however the current mayor may be re-elected. The current Mayor has been in office for the last forty-five years. The city funds collected through donations by patrons in the town. Since there is no minimum on these donations, inhabitants and patrons give little but often as a way of preventing a tax scheme being introduced.
Laws include no stealing, murder, or disorderly behaviour. No conspiring against the Mayor as you will have a chance to elect someone new every fifteen years. No Racism or cultural inappropriateness. Buy from legitimate sources, not a black market as this is what sustains the town as a whole.
No damage to public or private property or buildings. Religion to be practiced privately.

Defences

In such a flat land the enemy can be seen for miles leaving little chance of an element of surprise. So only three outposts are needed in order to maintain security in this peaceful section of Ecura. The town lacks any walls, being a pop up settlement built in the centre of the plains. The towns main defence force is the Town Guard who are sworn to protect the city and its inhabitants as well as uphold the law. The Guards are either armed with a sword and shield or with a bow and arrows, dorning dyed red leather armour and cast iron helmets.

Industry & Trade

Merchants, Patrons, Blacksmiths and art collectors and sellers are aplenty here in Xanu. If you've got the coin, Xanu has the Wares. There isn't much that can't be bought or traded for in Xanu but more specific or uncommon items may need to be ordered and brought in at a higher price in certain stores or stalls. Each stall has different methods of contacting you once an item has been delivered but an item brought in will remain there until you collect it, within a certain amount of time of course depending on the trader.

Infrastructure

Infrastructure includes wide roads which are fully pedestrianised. Markets adorn streets on Xanu's outskirts of the Town limits. As you move toward the Centre of the town you will see the Grand Theater, the second largest theater in all of Ecura. Nearby is the Bards College called Bards Institute of Music Mastery. (BIMM for short). Also in a central location is the Mayors office, located at an equal distance from the town limits so all inhabitants need only walk the same distance, instead of being on an outskirt harder for some to reach or some having further to walk.
There is also a large central Barracks for the Xanu Guards to operate from.

Assets

Xanu has many traders but no specific stores that can't be found elsewhere in Ecura. No valuable or magical items to speak of either except for the City Fund, which varies in value, kept under guard in the Mayors office building.
Located on the eastern side of town is the Large Library.

Guilds and Factions

The Bard College is the only notable guild or faction located here, or at least the only legal one.

History

Used as a midpoint town for the Western Ecurian plains the town was given to an original tribe leader on the first Day of Forgiveness. Starting off life as an outpost for travellers in this open landscape the demand grew high for amenities quickly. Thanks to the land offering little danger if you know the right paths of grass and trees, many people feel safe in the Western Ecurian Plains so the original settlement grew into a village and grew from there.
This settlement and village was named Xanu and thanks to its accommodation to travellers it later grew once more into the town we see today.

Architecture

Medium sized villas accomodate the populous. White exterior walls with brown wooden furnishings and tatched straw rooves covering the skyscape if one decides to look up.
Central buildings with the exception of the Grand Theater all have these distinct features as well. The Grand Theater is the only building in the town made of stone since stone is hard to come by within a grass plain. It is Oval or eliptical in shape using arches to support itself like a bridge with one big arch along each side.

Geography

Flat terrain with Dusty/Dry Soil roads from the grass plain it was constructed on.

Natural Resources

Grass both long and Short. Artificial lake built by the townspeople. Scattered surrounding farms making good use of the fertile land for crop growth and grazing.
