Alba of Juna

Schecter20

Tribe Leader/Lord Ruler of Juna. Alba Unknown Unknown

A brief description of the known life of Alba of Juna.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Former muscles turned to flappy rolls in later life, his posture hindered by his belly.

Body Features

Fat rotund belly, excess fat on arms and legs also.

Facial Features

Large, often flushed face with a small mouth.

Physical quirks

Waddled along due to his abnormal weight and size, in later life even walking to the kitchen (something he used to destress) became a strenuous activity. Towards the end, he would make it there once every day, and never leave until he was tired enough to go to bed, or sometimes not at all. He was often found asleep in the kitchen the next morning, if tiredness had overcome him at the table.

Apparel & Accessories

Luxurious clothes garnished his large frame, made from the first generation of Janu's weavers. A golden crown sat on his head and he always kept his Greatsword by his side, even in the kitchen, and especially in vulnerable states such as when using the lavatory or in bed asleep.

Specialized Equipment

Specialised in hand to hand combat, favouring the Greatsword as his weapon of choice.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Alba was a capable leader when signing the Treaty of Forgiveness. As a Tribe Leader he was fearless in battle and knew his way around a greatsword pretty well. He had 6 children, 4 of which were stillborn. His two surviving children were sons, but as Alba grew stressed and paranoid in later life he had his eldest, more capable son executed for fear of being overthrown before his own death. Later in life Alba grew paranoid that there were plots to kill him, that the poor (already establishing themselves within the city) would revolt, or that one of the other settlement leaders would not obey the Treaty laws. In precaution, he built a barracks, high walls and established a gatehouse to monitor the travellers comings and goings. As this was still technically a safe passage he was not in breach of the treaty himself. In turn, he turned Juna into an impregnable fortress and a force to be reckoned with in centuries to come, despite not a single war taking place during his time as Lord Ruler.   His death was caused by gluttony, his stomach burst as he grew fatter and fatter. However it was not his weight that caused his death but eating too much in one session, through stress eating, brought on by his own paranoia.

Gender Identity

Male.

Sexuality

Straight.

Education

Claimed to have been taught how to fight by an elderman of his tribe when he was a young man but this was before recorded history and there is no proof of this. Alba never received a formal education.

Employment

Tribe Leader. Lord Ruler.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Became Lord Ruler of Juna and was responsible for laying the groundwork for it to become the military force it is today.

Failures & Embarrassments

Became a paranoid stress eater.   Was an incapable leader in his old age.   Executed his own son out of paranoia.   His death circumstance.

Mental Trauma

Paranoia. Stress.

Intellectual Characteristics

His mind, when working correctly showed fighting and tactical genius at times. When he was paranoid he was also intelligent enough to know how to eliminate any threats to him and his position, even if some were quite extreme.

Morality & Philosophy

Morality wasn't really a big deal for Alba. He mainly looked out for himself and his position as Lord Ruler of Juna. It didn't matter if what he was doing was right or wrong morally, he took the necessary actions he felt were needed in order to maintain power and status. Morality of any action was out of the question, the real question he pondered was "How does this benefit me?"

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Self preservation.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Excellent war strategist.   Never listened to others reassurance or heed warnings about his eating habits.

Likes & Dislikes

Sponge cakes were his favourite food. He disliked anyone who he saw as a threat.

Vices & Personality flaws

Acted in haste. Paranoid. Gluttony.

Personality Quirks

Booming laugh.

Hygiene

Food would often be spilled down the front of his clothes or be spread upon his face.

Social

Contacts & Relations

In contact with other leaders of the settlements who also signed the Treaty of Forgiveness.

Family Ties

Wife. Children.

Religious Views

Did not care for religion.

Social Aptitude

Not the most pleasant person to be around at the best of times, a real man's man, and was pretty forward in his manner of speaking. He was the Lord Ruler and it was his way or no way.

Mannerisms

Always rested his hands upon his belly like an expectant mother.

Hobbies & Pets

Had a horse in his stable. A fine stallion which outlived him by a year. He used to ride it into battle during war time, but since the horse had entered the stable, apart from general exercise there was never a reason to take him back out of the stable.

Speech

Spoke slowly, but would always try and rush the opposing persons speaking so he could talk about himself more.

Wealth & Financial state

Quite flamboyant and flashy with wealth. Treasuries often struggled to keep funds going. Extreme taxation of the people led to the formation of shanty towns and fed the paranoia of an impending revolt.
