The Oathbound Legion
The Oathbound Legion is a militant order devoted to Kordun, the God of War and Valor. They are a brotherhood bound by sacred oaths of honor, courage, and duty. Members of the Legion see war as a crucible where strength, virtue, and valor are tested. To them, battle is not mere bloodshed — it is a path to glory, a means of defending the weak, and a way to uphold justice. The Oathbound Legion exists both as a religious order and a paramilitary force, offering their service as guardians, protectors, and champions of valor. Temples of Kordun often double as barracks or training grounds where martial prowess is refined, and new recruits are trained to adhere to the tenets of war with honor.
The symbol of the Legion is a crossed sword and shield atop a stone pillar, representing strength, protection, and unyielding resolve.

Tenets of Faith
- Oath Before Sword – Every warrior of Kordun swears an oath of service before their blade is blessed. This oath is considered unbreakable, and its violation can result in expulsion from the church.
- The Trial of Courage – All initiates must undergo a "Trial of Courage," often a task or mission requiring great bravery, to earn their place in the order. This is both a physical and spiritual test.
- Protect and Defend – Guardianship of the weak is one of the most sacred charges. Devotees are expected to act as protectors, not just warriors.
- Victory Without Malice – When an enemy is defeated, it is considered just to offer them the chance for surrender if possible. No warrior of Kordun should strike down a defenseless foe.
- Valor in All Things – Valor extends beyond combat. Devotees must exhibit bravery in everyday life, standing up for what is right even when it is difficult or unpopular.
Worship
The Oathbinding Ceremony
New members of the order swear an unbreakable oath to Kordun before their first blessed weapon. This ritual is marked by a symbolic binding of the hands with silver cord, followed by a ceremonial duel with a senior member. The Call to Valor
Before battle, the faithful of Kordun gather in prayer to reaffirm their oaths, recite hymns of courage, and inscribe their names on The Ledger of Valor, a sacred record of warriors who have proven themselves worthy.Day of Honor
Annually, the faithful observe a day of reflection, recounting the tales of honorable warriors and reflecting on the virtues of courage, loyalty, and self-sacrifice.Sacred Duels
Within the church, challenges are sometimes resolved by sacred duels, but these are not to the death. These duels are symbolic trials meant to determine truth or justice between disputants.Rite of the Vanguard
Warriors who rise to leadership roles undergo the Rite of the Vanguard, a ritual involving fasting, prayer, and symbolic combat against multiple challengers. Those who endure and win are marked with The Sigil of the Helm (tattoo, brand, or symbolic item) and recognized as leaders among Kordun’s faithful.
