The Howling Cult
The followers of Kaos, known as The Howling Cult, are not an organized faith, for organization itself is an affront to their god. Instead, they are a collective of anarchists, madmen, and seekers of unfettered freedom who embrace the wild, untamed nature of existence.
They believe that order is a lie, a fragile illusion that must be torn apart to reveal the raw, glorious madness beneath. They do not follow laws, nor do they adhere to any doctrine. To be one of the Howling Cult is to abandon the chains of structure, to embrace the wild, beautiful chaos that governs the universe.
The cult manifests in many ways. Some are wandering prophets, spreading the "gospel" of Kaos in the form of riddles, paradoxes, and acts of pure anarchy. Others are wild-eyed sorcerers, channeling the raw, untamed power of the Maelstrom to warp reality in ways that defy all reason. Some are cultists in hidden enclaves, gathering to perform frenzied rituals where they attempt to become one with the madness, breaking their own minds in the process.
Their most infamous practice is The Rite of Unraveling, where initiates willingly subject themselves to the raw chaos of Kaos, allowing their bodies and minds to be reshaped by the Maelstrom. Some emerge with new forms, their flesh shifting in unpredictable ways. Others gain the ability to speak truths that no one should know. And some simply cease to be, unmade by the very force they sought to embrace.
To the rest of the world, the Howling Cult is a force of insanity and destruction. Wherever they go, reality bends, riots break out, and the fragile order of civilization is thrown into disarray. But to the cultists, they are not destroyers—they are liberators, freeing the world from the prison of stability.
Their sacred texts are not books but scattered fragments, words etched onto stone, flesh, and the very air itself. No two versions are the same, and they shift and change when read, revealing different truths to different minds. They do not preach, for understanding Kaos is to lose all reason. Instead, they howl, they sing, they laugh, and they tear down all that is static and unmoving.
For in the end, all things shall fall into chaos. And Kaos will be there, laughing as the universe breaks apart into beautiful, endless madness.
