The Hourglass Expanse
The divine realm of Chronis is a paradox of infinite stillness and ceaseless motion. The Hourglass Expanse is a boundless plane of shifting sands, where golden dunes rise and fall like the tides of time itself. Above, the sky is fractured into countless layers, each displaying moments from history—some long past, others yet to come, and some that have never happened at all.
Great celestial mechanisms tower in the distance, enormous gears turning in perfect synchrony, marking the passage of the cosmic cycle. Rivers of liquid time flow in spirals, their currents shifting unpredictably, revealing glimpses of possible futures and forgotten pasts.
At the heart of the Expanse lies The Eternal Archive, an immense structure of polished obsidian and glass where every event that has ever transpired or will transpire is recorded upon unfathomable tomes, each page an unbreakable thread in the fabric of reality. The Archive is said to house the Chronicles of All Things, an endless script detailing every choice, every consequence, and every fate written before it comes to pass. None, not even the gods, may alter what is inscribed.
Time flows strangely in the Hourglass Expanse—travelers may experience centuries in an instant or find themselves trapped in the same moment for eternity. Few mortals have ever walked its dunes and returned, and those who do often struggle to reconcile their newfound knowledge of fate with the burden of free will.
