The Church of the Open Heart
Seraphina’s devotees are known as the Compassionate Order of the Open Heart, though they are often referred to as "Heartwardens" or "Handbearers." Her followers believe that to serve others is to serve Seraphina herself. Her teachings emphasize that empathy is not passive; it requires active effort, patience, and sacrifice.
Structure
The church operates without a formal hierarchy. Instead, "Heartwardens" act as guides and mentors, chosen by their peers for their wisdom and emotional resilience. Temples dedicated to Seraphina are called "Houses of Refuge", where all may find sanctuary, no matter their past. These sanctuaries often operate as places of shelter, healing, and arbitration for those in conflict.
The most devoted among them take on the role of "Hand of Solace", those who act as ambassadors of peace, traveling to regions torn by war or strife to broker peace and offer healing to the broken-hearted.

Tenets of Faith
- Listen First, Act Second — Before taking action, one must listen deeply to the pain of others.
- Suffer With, Not For — Empathy requires walking beside those in pain, not taking their burden from them.
- Every Soul is Worth Saving — No being, no matter how broken, is beyond redemption.
- Be the Hearth in the Storm — When all hope fades, the faithful must be the light that others can turn to.
Worship
- The Rite of Shared Grief: A communal gathering where followers share their burdens, confess fears, and receive spiritual guidance.
- The Vigil of Mercy: A 24-hour silent vigil where followers reflect on those they have wronged or failed to support, followed by an offering of forgiveness or atonement.
- The Hand of Healing: A practice where followers offer their hands to strangers, symbolizing their willingness to listen and help without judgment.
