Delaware walks the line between scholar and scoundrel. Born into the dusty outskirts of a crumbling frontier town, Del and his twin brother Nebraska were raised by their fiercely independent single mom Tincan de la Cruz - herself a former smuggler turned relic hunter.
Their father, a charming but reckless treasure seeker, died of rabies after an encounter with a feral beast went pear shaped. He left behind more debts than heirlooms.
From a young age, Del was drawn to history’s forgotten corners, fascinated by whispers of the past hidden beneath layers of dust and time. His obsession with lost artifacts led him into a situation he nearly didn’t live through.
Once, while out exploring as a kit, del fell into a crevasse and was covered over by dirt and gravel. He was stuck in total darkness for 7 days, feeding off algae and insects until a posse dug him out.
The leader of the posse, a human lawman named Heck Tekker gave the frightened little del his silver plated antique snuff box when the youngster seemed interested in it after the incident. The experience led to two lifelong outcomes — connecting snuff boxes and being absolutely petrified of the dark.
Nebraska took a more mercenary path, becoming a fighter and hired gun. Delaware’s interest in history and artifacts led him to study archeology.
Delaware is an expert at navigating ancient ruins, deciphering lost scripts, and retrieving relics that others may find too dangerous to touch. He will sell objects if he has to, but would much rather reunite conquered folks with their repatriated artifacts.
Delaware has three main interests at the end of the day - trash, trinkets and tail.
