Wradi

The Watcher

Wradi is the god of protection and soldiers. He is worshipped by the Human in northern Eclion. Wradi is married to Landa, the goddess of seasons, and is father to the other gods of the pantheon, with the exception of the Wanderer. In the pantheon he is seen as the main defender of civilization and protector of Man, helping them fight off the many monstrosities that roam the northern woods and mountains.   As patriarch and leader of the pantheon, Wradi enjoys chief worship amongst his followers. Any settlement of some significance has and maintains a shrine or temple to the Watcher. This is not merely an act of reverance but serves a very practical function as Wradi uses the shrines as beacons and lookout posts into the Material Plane. Through these places he can keep watch on the world for encroaching dangers.   One of the more noteworthy cults that worship Wradi are the Spears of Wradi. The Spears are a somewhat loose organised band of warriors who travel the wilds in search of monsters to kill, in the name of Wradi. Wradi favors these monster hunters and imbues them with divine energies to aid them in their quests.   The depiction of Wradi and his domains bear a semblence to the god-king Paladine, the god of protection and kings, mainly worshipped in Arain. Although it is desputed by Arainian priests, most scholars agree that the pantheon of the northern tribes likely predates the more modern and expanded pantheon of the Arainian republic. The worship of Paladine might have originated from the worship of Wradi in this regard.
