Caeda Beetles

Caeda Beetles are sturdy mounts native to the center and east of Ecari. Over the last hundreds of years, domestication of them has become essential for the continent. They are often used to pull carts or carriages but can also be mounted. They are not fast, but have a lot of endurance and strength, and can also be used in battle.   Caeda Beetles have six legs, two of which are heavy pincers, and two arm pincers. They are covered in heavy chitin and have lost the ability to fly, even though they have wings. They still use their wings to be able to leap short distances as well as in mating rituals and threatening gestures.   They are omnivores, and their ability to get by a long time with little food has made them valuable for long distance travel.   Due to their many benefits, Caeda Beetles are quite pricey, costing at least 500 gp.
