Plains of Ezran (Ez-ran)

A long series of plains accompanied by small hills and rivers, it is the largest in all of Ecadia. These land house most of the farmland in Ecadia and is responsible for a large portion of the produce seen throught nearby regions.

Geography

Long plains with small lakes, streams and ponds rolling down the small hills. Bordered by the Dragon's Bite Bay to the south and the Deserter's Waste in the north. Tall grass, small trees and bushes make up majority of the local plant-life making for long stretches of land with high visibility.

Ecosystem

Large open spaces make it hard for most large predators to stalk their prey, carnivors local to this are tend to be of medium size to hide amongst the grass or have developed unique hunting methods. Herbivors tend to form herds to increase their chance of survival against the smaller native predators.

Ecosystem Cycles

During winter the flora withers and dies, creating an almost barren landscape. Only certain plants and areas manage to continue to thrive in the colder season. The animals have adapted to this more difficult environment by migrating towards the forest where food is more readily available, those that don't migrate go into forms of hibernation.

Fauna & Flora

Many forms of natural cattle such as sheep, cows and goats make these plains their home along with smaller creatures like chickens and mice. Predators are drawn to these lands for their food supply, mostly via air or underground.   Many forms or farmable flora are found in these plains and hence grown, everything from Potatos, Carrots and Beets all the way to Wheat, Cotton and Corn.

History

During the end of the Salvation it was here that the great mage Ezran, one of the driving forces of the rebellion, defeated the vicious dragon Shor'gulrick, officially bringing an end to the age of Dominion. After the end of the war the great mage helped found the first town of the free realm before disappearing.

Tourism

Many people come to the great Plains of Ezran to pay homage to the hero of old and see the lands where their freedom was finally gained.
