Botach

A botach is a mythical specter that feeds on the souls of small children. A botach appears often as a thin old man, wrapped in a cloak made of whispering shadows. The whisper of the cloak has often been described as sounding like the voices of screaming children, muffled by a great distance. A botach can usually be found terrorizing small hamlets deep within the forests of Ebilar, or in remote villages and hamlets, far from the civilized world. Botachs will spend considerable time psychologically torturing its victims through their dreams, or in the in-between of wakefulness and sleep before finally revealing itself and stealing the victim's soul. The more prolonged the process of torment, the greater the botach's level of sustenance.
