Xyrian Nebulae

The Cloak of Artor

"The Xyrian Nebulae are some of the most mysterious structures in our universe; From the inside, they're but a mellow wisp of colour in the sky, but for an onlooker on the outside all they would see is the opaque wall of gas that they form; The Xyrian Nebulae encompasses the Artoris System and many other neighbouring stars as what i'd describe as a protective shroud, a blanket of sorts. It is a no-brainer that these magnificent clouds are what kept Ebi and the Resistance hidden from the clutches of the Ascentants for so long times, and this is reflected in the folklore and mythos surrounding these clouds, and so, Xyr is referred by natives as the Cloak of Artor"
-Philip Gerhart, Human Historian & Philosopher, Circa 39 BA
The Xyrian Nebulae, or simply Xyr, is a mass of dark-violet to light-blue nebular clouds, roughly arranged in a hollow, elongated spheroid, that encompass and shroud the Artoris System and several other neighbouring stars. From within the nebulae, the clouds are faint, and are seen as mellow wisps of colour in the night sky, allowing light from external sources (such as distant stars and galaxies) to enter with little interference.   The Nebulae are the result of both accumulation of gases in interplanetary space, remnants from supernovae and from star-forming clouds; Xyr also has a much higher density of Flux than other known nebular clouds, and this is what is believed to give the Nebulae their shrouding properties.   Xyr is also a major point in folklore of Ebi's inhabitants, held in high regards by Elven civilizations, in popular myth Xyr is referred as "The Cloak of Artor"
