Cairdal Blades

The Cairdal Blades is an elite military and espionage force in the service of Aerenal's Sibling Kings. They can operate anywhere on Eberron. It largely comprises fighters and rogues, as well as some wizards for magical support. Alongside the living Blades, a small group of legendary undying soldiers further bolster their power.

Additionally, every time the Mark of Shadow appears among the population or Aerenal—only one or two in each generation—the Cairdal Blades are quick to induct them into their ranks. These individuals are then generally trained as rogues.

History

During the tense days of House Vol's opposition to the Undying Court, members of the Cairdal Blades discovered that the dragonmarked house was in league with a cabal of dragons. In response, the Undying Court declared that the line of Vol should be destroyed and, in alliance with the dragons of Argonnessen, the elves eradicated every last member of the House.

Base of Operations

Based in the capital city of Shae Cairdal, the Cairdal Blades make their headquarters in the Hall of Blades. It comprises a whole great tree of the fortress. This is where the Blades train and prepare for their missions. From their halls, the Blades also monitor the Aereni population, searching for those who manifest the Mark of Shadow and recruiting them into the organization.

Rumors

Although the Cairdal Blades officially serve the Sibling Kings, it's rumored that their true loyalties lie with the Undying Court. These conspiracy theories hint at a possible cabal inside the Court, engaged in activities unknown to even the Sibling Kings.
