Aon-Ní the Skáld Character in Eberron | World Anvil

Aon-Ní the Skáld

Aon-Ní is a young changeling Loremaster that is just starting his journey after the previous Loremaster died of natural causes and his intended successor, Ikth, died of the "Offspring's Curse". Aon-Ní's only qualification was that he was able to memorize a lot of Fux-Ra's stories, but the village still lost a lot of their portfolio when the two changelings died.
Fux-Ra began to suffer from dementia in the later years of his life, long before anyone in the community thought to replace the Loremaster. As such, much of the lore of the personas has been lost due to memory loss. All that remains was what Aon-Ní learned at the old changeling's knee. When the little changeling boy would go play, he would take on the form of these great heroes and act out their greatest deeds (even though it was forbidden for him to do it at the time). Now, as loremaster, Aon-Ní the Skald takes on the form of famous heroes while performing heroic actions. Around a campfire, or in a tavern, Aon-Ní tells stories of the original persona and the changelings that have carried that legacy forward after the original creature's death.
Aon-Ní sees himself as a custodian of changeling culture and traditions after so many of his people blended into cities. His ultimate goal is to find a suitable location for a changeling settlement and be trusted by Vik as a "cultural consultant". His adventuring to find new personas, and his cultivation of changeling stories and traditions are a means to that end.
