Singe

Etan Bayard (a.k.a. Singe)

Etan "Singe" Bayard is a Wynarn University trained wizard, originally from Aundair. He joined the Frostbrand Company of the Blademarks Guild at a young age, and fought for all sides during the Last War. He specialized in both fire magic and swordsmanship, earning his nickname "Singe". He was with his company in Narath when the city was massacred by Aundairian soldiers, who snuck into the city via the sewers.   His comrade Geth was supposed to be watching the sewer grate, and his body wasn't found among the dead. Singe believed he deserted, and held the grudge until he encountered Geth in Bull Hollow on the day it was attacked by dolgrims. The two tentatively put aside their differences to defend the hamlet.   When the dragon arrived, Geth and Singe stole a horse and fled. Later that evening, Singe was reunited with Warden, and was met by Kalshana and Virikhad. The two Kalashtar were being pursued by more of the horrors that attacked Bull Hollow, and Singe defended them.   Following these events, Singe travelled to Yrlag, and from there made his way to Zarash'ak with Geth to warn the Gatekeepers that the Bull Hole had fallen, and that the Daelkyr minions were interested in the Kalashtar for some reason. This was all actually not really Singe's problem, but after looking for Geth for 7 years, he wasn't about to let the shifter out of his sight.   In Zarash'ak, they ran into Dandra and joined up with her and a half-orc named Natrac. They were betrayed by the Lyrandar captain Vennet d'Lyrandar, which resulted in them being ambushed in Zarash'ak Report and Singe being captured by Dah'mir along with Dandra.   He spent a lot of time during the journey to the Bonetree Mound talking to Ashi, who had captured him. They discovered that her sword was a Sentinel Marshal Honour Blade. Her grandfather was a captured Sentinel Marshal of House Deneith, meaning she carries the blood of Deneith. Singe convinced her to change sides, but it was too late for her to rescue him.   Singe was being kept alive because the Bonetree wished to use him as breeding stock. The Dolgaunt Hruucan, who led the hunt for the Kalashtar had sustained scars from Singe, and wanted revenge. Singe had to fight the dolgaunt in single combat, a fight he couldn't win.   He was rescued though, when Terfel Glas charged in, supported by an army of orcs lead by the Gatekeeper Batul and the rest of the party. He then traveled with the party as they pursued the plans of the dragon Dah'mir.
